Parenting a child with special needs or neurodiversity brings a depth of love, dedication, and commitment that is hard to put into words. It also brings a particular kind of exhaustion, one that is not always visible to others, and not always easy to admit even to yourself. When so much energy goes into advocating, supporting, and being present for your child, there is often very little left over for your own emotional world.
This group is for parents at any stage of that journey, whether you are newly managing a diagnosis, years into a path you know well, or raising an adult child whose needs continue to shape your daily life. Whatever the age of your child, the emotional experience of this kind of parenting evolves but rarely simplifies.
There can be grief alongside love, grief for the path you imagined, for the struggles your child faces, and for the parts of your own life that have quietly receded. There can also be guilt, comparison, loneliness, and the particular weight of feeling responsible for something that no amount of effort can fully fix. And beneath all of this, a fierce and enduring love that makes every part of it worthwhile, and also harder.
In this group, there is space to bring all of it. The pride and the exhaustion. The tenderness and the frustration. The questions that have no easy answers. Here you will find others who do not need it explained to them, because they are living it too.
All our groups take place in a supportive environment where you are free to participate in the way that feels right for you. Share if you wish, listen quietly, or simply be present. There is no pressure to open up before you are ready. We meet regularly, and over time, the group often becomes a place of recognition and relief. A safe space where things begin to make a little more sense, where new perspectives can emerge naturally, and where you can try out different ways of thinking, feeling, and relating.
