Difficult relationships with food often go far beyond food itself. At their heart, they frequently touch on deeper experiences of control, emotions, self-worth, anxiety, and the need for safety or regulation. In everyday life, this may show up as a preoccupation with food or body image, cycles of strict rules and loss of control, guilt or shame around eating, or persistent sense of being stuck in patterns that feel hard to change. It can also mean carrying a great deal in secret, or feeling profoundly misunderstood, even by those closest to you.
Reaching out for support with something so personal takes real courage. Many people who struggle in this way have done so quietly for a long time. Finding a space where these experiences can be spoken about honestly, without fear of judgment or pressure to change overnight, can itself feel like a significant step.
In this group, the focus is on understanding the emotional and psychological patterns that sit beneath the surface, building awareness and self-compassion, and gradually developing a more flexible and kinder relationship with food, the body, and yourself.
All our groups take place in a supportive environment where you are free to participate in the way that feels right for you. Share if you wish, listen quietly, or simply be present. There is no pressure to open up before you are ready. We meet regularly, and over time, the group often becomes a place of recognition and relief. A safe space where things begin to make a little more sense, where new perspectives can emerge naturally, and where you can try out different ways of thinking, feeling, and relating.
