About this group

Living with an intense or persistent fear can reshape your life. Over time, certain situations, places, objects, or sensations begin to feel impossible to approach, and the effort of avoiding them can become exhausting. What may have started as a single difficult experience can gradually grow into something that limits your freedom, affects your daily choices, and leaves you feeling increasingly trapped.

Many people also carry a layer of shame or embarrassment about their fear, particularly when it is hard to explain to others or seems disproportionate to the situation. This can make it feel very isolating, as though something is fundamentally wrong with you, rather than a response that made sense at some point and has simply become stuck.

Progress in this group looks different for everyone. For some, it means facing something that once felt out of reach. For others, it is simply feeling less alone with the fear, or understanding it in a way that makes it slightly less powerful.

A safe, self-paced environment

All our groups take place in a supportive environment where you are free to participate in the way that feels right for you. Share if you wish, listen quietly, or simply be present. There is no pressure to open up before you are ready. We meet regularly, and over time, the group often becomes a place of recognition and relief. A safe space where things begin to make a little more sense, where new perspectives can emerge naturally, and where you can try out different ways of thinking, feeling, and relating.
