Pregnancy is one of the most significant transitions a woman can go through, and yet the full emotional reality of it is rarely spoken about openly. Alongside anticipation and hope, it can also bring anxiety, uncertainty, self-doubt, and a sense of being overwhelmed by the magnitude of what lies ahead.
There is often an unspoken pressure to appear happy and grateful throughout pregnancy, which can make it harder to acknowledge when the experience feels more complicated than that. Some women struggle with heightened anxiety about health or birth, unexpected changes in mood, difficulty adjusting to bodily changes, or a fear of becoming a parent that feels impossible to admit. Others feel lonely, disconnected from their relationship, or uncertain about who they are becoming. These experiences are far more common than they appear, and they deserve a space of their own.
Pregnancy also brings a profound shift in identity. The woman you have been is making room for someone new, and that process can feel disorienting, even when it is also meaningful. Questions about your relationship, your sense of self, your body, and your future can all surface at once, and not always at a convenient moment.
This group is a space for expectant mothers to explore all of this honestly, including first-time mothers, those without a partner or support network, and anyone carrying more than they feel able to share elsewhere.
All our groups take place in a supportive environment where you are free to participate in the way that feels right for you. Share if you wish, listen quietly, or simply be present. There is no pressure to open up before you are ready. We meet regularly, and over time, the group often becomes a place of recognition and relief. A safe space where things begin to make a little more sense, where new perspectives can emerge naturally, and where you can try out different ways of thinking, feeling, and relating.
